It took me a while (years) to feel comfortable sharing my story to people that were not in recovery. The very first time I did, something inside of me wept for the sadness and at the same time something inside of me blossomed – and I healed a little more.
Some people come right out of the gate and have the strength and courage to expose themselves, to be completely vulnerable and raw – fiercely advocating for improving education around addition, and health care disparities.
