This training is for Christian community members who want to learn how to engage with those suffering from the consequences of Substance Use Disorder (SUD); or who want to become a Certified Recovery Coach or a Certified Recovery Support Worker and want to know how it applies to the Word of God.
Virtual Dates (must attend all classes to obtain a certificate of completion) five consecutive weeks, Begins March 7, 2023 and runs through April 6, 2023 on Tuesday and Thursdays from 6:00 pm- 9:15 pm EST each day.
Course Objectives:
• Understand basics of addiction and the brain
• Understand common behaviors of addiction
• Practice skills of motivational interviewing
• Define roles of a recovery coach
• Gain an understanding of what recovery is
• Evaluate stages of change and stages of recovery
• Identify Harm Reduction
• Develop reuse prevention plans
• Utilize SMART Goals
• Recognize the importance of self-care
REGISTRATION & ENROLLMENT: Upon payment, your registration will not be complete. You must read your receipt and follow the instructions to complete your registration. You will not receive your manual or zoom instructions if you do not complete your enrollment. Please do so promptly.
MANUALS: Enter your proper mailing address in which to receive the training manual. If you relocate, or your mailing address changes, please notify Choices immediately to ensure delivery of your manual. Additional charges may result if not notified of an address change two weeks prior to the start date. Manuals will be delivered by USPS approx. one week prior to the training.
All training will be conducted via Zoom. You will receive manuals and Zoom login information 1 week prior to the training start date.
