Motivational Interviewing Virtual Live 10 hour Course


Course Description:

Motivational interviewing is evidence-based and is integral in counseling to initiate movement toward behavior change. Peer recovery support workers and peer coaches utilize motivational interviewing and conversation in alignment with their role of reducing power differentials. Our course offers foundational learning to implement these powerful skills.


Objectives:

  • Learn the spirit of motivational conversation.
  • Implement concepts of active listening.
  • Identify ambivalence.
  • Learn the fundamentals of Open-Ended Questions, Affirmations, Reflective Listening, and Summarizing (OARS).


Course Details:

  • This training course will take place over three sessions and is a total of 10 CEs.
  • Space is limited to 16 seats. Register today.
  • This course is valued at $200. The promotional cost is $115.

         3. Navigate to the course catalog/schedule and locate the exact courses you have paid for and "enroll" in them.
    There are numerous other courses on this catalog page. To alleviate any future confusion, please be mindful of the dates you have paid for when you enroll in our event management system (EMS)
  • All virtual training will be conducted via Zoom. Zoom instructions will be sent out via automatic email from Protraxx. Check your Spam account if you do not receive an email a few days before your event. Or,  you will find it in the Protraxx account the day before the course.
  • COURSE MATERIAL: You will receive a manual for the Peer & Ethics training no less than 1 week before the training start date. Be sure to put your mailing address in the fields provided. If your address changes between now and the date of mailing, please notify us to ensure you receive your manual. Additional charges may result if not notified.
  • Handouts for all other courses are made available in the DETAILS section of your Protraxx account no less than one week prior to the start date of the course.
  • In the event you need to reschedule after registering for a Choices course, a $20.00 rescheduling fee will be required.
  • *** Cancellations must be received within two weeks of the start date to be rescheduled or refunded. All refunds are subject to a processing fee. No exceptions.
